Lima, Peru – 31 August 2022: U.S-founded HR-tech startup – Edge, is increasing the base compensation of its Peruvian-based employees by 18.5% in a move seeking to provide financial relief to the company’s fastest-growing LATAM team.
More than a hundred of the company’s Peruvian employees will benefit from the salary raise from 2700 soles to 3200 soles beginning in the fourth quarter. The company has lately increased remuneration for its employees in South Asia and North America – making it one of the few companies actively adjusting salaries to mitigate the effects of inflation.
Edge’s founder and CEO, Iffi Wahla, made the following statement: “Consumer costs in Peru are predicted to climb by 3-5% in the coming year, and we want to make sure our staff can stay ahead of the inflation curve. Our goal is always to put our people first, and we hope other organizations in the region are inspired to follow suit.”
The company announced plans to increase employee compensation for its operations across Latin America later this year.
Established in 2020, Edge serves clients in the insurance, healthcare, and retail industries by connecting them with remote workers from around the world. The organization hosts a presence in several regions, including the Asia-Pacific, North America, Latin America, and Europe, with plans to launch in the Middle East and Africa. The company plans to achieve a presence in over 150 nations by 2024.
